As of November 1, 2023, the number of payment cards in Azerbaijan amounted to 16,210,000, up 1.7% from a month earlier, 18.9% from early 2023, and 21% from a year ago, Report informs, citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.
The number of debit cards in Azerbaijan increased by 20.8% to 14.058 million over the past year, and the number of credit cards soared by 22.1% to 2.152 million. The turnover of these cards amounted to 8.226 billion manats ($4.84 billion) (61.9% more than a year earlier) and 604 million manats ($355.29 million) (51.8% more), respectively.
In October 2023, the amount of non-cash transactions in Azerbaijan increased by 2.2 times to 5.017 billion ($2.95 billion).
During the reporting period, the number of ATMs in the country increased by 1.9%, and the number of POS terminals increased by 9.3% to 3,090 (1,604 in Baku) and 82,615 (55,632 in Baku), respectively.
