III European Games program includes 23 sports

The preliminary list of sports in the III European Games program to be held in 2023 in Krakow and Malopolye, Poland, has been announced.

According to Report, the European Olympic Committee (EOC) and the Polish delegation reached the agreement at a Rome, Italy meeting.

The main criteria in determining the final list of sports were whether they have the European Championship status or a license for the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics. A similar condition will be set during the final talks with each of the relevant European sports federations.

Preliminary list of sports included in the program of the III European Games:

Synchronized swimming

Badminton

Basketball 3x3

Beach handball

Breakdance

Canoe (ski and canoe, canoe slalom)

Cycling (BMX, highway)

Fencing

Gymnastics

Judo

Karate

Modern pentathlon

Mountain running

Rugby 7

Shooting

Jumping from a trampoline (summer)

Sports climbing

Table tennis

Triathlon

Volleyball (beach volleyball, volleyball)

Weightlifting

Wrestling

The first European Games took place in Baku in 2015, and the second European Games in Minsk, Belarus.
