Which countries imported Azerbaijani oil in January?

In January 2021, Azerbaijan exported over 4.01 million tons of crude oil and oil products, Report informs citing the country's State Customs Committee.

According to the committee, the total monetary value of the exports exceeded $1.359 billion.

Italy ranked first among the importers of Azerbaijani crude oil. In January, Azerbaijan exported over 2.15 million tons of crude oil to Italy for $719.1 million.

Spain ranks second, following Italy. In January, Azerbaijan shipped 416,933 tons of crude oil to Spain for $137.81 million.

In January, Ukraine purchased over 339.38 million tons of crude oil from Azerbaijan for $111.48 million and thus, ranked third.

The fourth and fifth places on the list are occupied by India and China, respectively. So, in January, Azerbaijan exported 297,197 tons of crude oil to India for a total of $107.69 million.

China purchased 277,516 tons of crude oil from Azerbaijan for $102.59 million.

Croatia, Israel, and Romania ranked sixth, seventh, and eighth, respectively. So, in January, Croatia imported 187,115 tons of Azerbaijani oil for $61.85 million.

Israel imported 91,778 tons of Azerbaijani oil for $31.22 million, while Romania purchased only 84,633 tons for $30.55 million.

Portugal and Australia round out the top ten. In the reported month, Azerbaijan exported 83,381tons of crude oil to Portugal for $29.63 million. Meanwhile, Australia bought 54,975 tons of Azerbaijani oil for $20.88 million.

Tunisia and Turkey ranked eleventh and twelfth, respectively, and closed the list. In January, Azerbaijan exported 29,783 tons of crude oil to Tunisia for $6.78 million. Turkey purchased 442.22 tons of Azerbaijani crude for just over $1 million.
