Volumes of Azerbaijani gas supplies to Europe revealed

From December 31, 2020 to date, 24.75 billion cubic meters of natural gas have been transported through the Trans Adriatic Gas Pipeline (TAP), TAP Managing Director Luca Schieppati told Report.

"Of the 24.75 billion cubic meters (bcm) we have transported in total since the start of physical flows (last day of 2020), almost 1,1 bcm has reached Bulgaria, more than 2,7 bcm reached Greece and more than 20,7 bcm Italy," Luca Schieppati said.

Azerbaijani gas supplies to Europe via the Trans-Adriatic gas pipeline began at the end of 2020. Deliveries are designed for 25 years, and the volume will exceed 10 billion cubic meters. At present, the throughput capacity of the pipeline is 12 billion cubic meters of gas per year.

Under the agreement signed between Azerbaijan and the European Union, gas transportation to Europe will be increased to 20 billion cubic meters in the next 5 years.
