Uzbekistan's Fergana refinery to produce new type of jet fuel

An experimental batch of aviation fuel for JET A-1 gas turbine engines has been received at the Fergana Oil Refinery (FOR) in Uzbekistan, Report informs via Uzbek media.

This fuel meets the European quality standard and is in high demand in the international aviation market, including Airbus and Boeing aircraft.

Aviation fuel JET A-1 produced by the FOR has passed qualification tests conducted by the All-Russian Research Institute of Oil Refining (JSC VNII NP). After these tests, the production technology was approved, and now a certificate of conformity has been received from the Uzbek Agency for Technical Regulation.

The configuration of the FOR process units makes it possible to increase the production of jet fuel to 8,000 tons per month and, in the future, to increase deliveries to both local and foreign airports.

“The development of new types of products is one of the main priorities implemented within the framework of the Fergana Oil Refinery Modernization Project. In light of the tasks announced by the country's leadership to turn Uzbekistan into an international transport hub, FOR is ready to become a reliable supplier of high-quality raw materials. We plan to create a geography of jet fuel supplies to local airports and enable international planes to refuel in Uzbekistan with high-quality domestic fuel,” noted the FOR Director Khabib Latipov.

Currently, the Fergana Oil Refinery is working to ensure the industrial production of a new type of aviation fuel.
