Ukrainian companies intend to restore Tartar HPP

Ukrainian companies are ready to assist in restoring the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, Yevgeny Korf, a member of the Poltava Oblast Council of Ukraine and an expert on energy issues.

According to him, Ukrainian companies can implement in Karabakh what very few companies in the former Soviet Union can do: "Currently, two enterprises in Ukraine are engaged in the production of generation systems. One such enterprise in the former USSR operated in Belarus and two in Russia. Even in the West, there are very few companies that produce such systems. The production of such generation systems is cheaper and of better quality than in other countries. These companies have extensive experience in the repair and rehabilitation of generators and turbines."

He noted that the Ukrainian car plant KrAZ is also being restored: "The United States plans to purchase these products. Given this, I think that KrAZ products will also be needed in the liberated areas."

Korf noted that, however, talks had been held so far on the possibility of businessmen from the Poltava region to work with Azerbaijan's Baku Cable: "Our first meeting with this company was for acquaintance. In the future, there will be prospects for cooperation between Ukrainian and Azerbaijani businessmen. According to our information, the Azerbaijani side will restore the Tartar Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP) because this HPP is in a dilapidated condition. Ukrainian companies also have the opportunity to restore it and use the experience of Ukraine in HPP. Azerbaijan can use the practice of Ukraine in this area."
