UK government okays project of new nuclear power plant

The UK government has given planning consent to the £20bn Sizewell C nuclear power plant in Suffolk.

The main owner of the project, French company EDF, anticipates that the new nuclear power plant will be capable of generating enough low-carbon electricity to power six million households.
