Turkish Parliament adopts first legislative decisions for gas hub operation

The Turkish parliament has begun the process of amending the legislation necessary for the operation of the international gas trading center, the gas hub, Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Donmez said, Report informs referring to TASS.

“The first legislative decisions in the context of the gas hub have passed through parliament. Thanks to them, BOTAS and other companies will be able to work much faster and easier. With the opening of the gas trading center, prices will also decrease, which is important for Europe. Türkiye will become one of the markets that determine the reference value gas,” he said.

He noted that the republic is considering options for cooperation with other countries to transport and sell gas to Europe. In particular, there are agreements with Azerbaijan on the establishment of a joint venture.
