‘TANAP is of a special importance for meeting of Europe’s need for gas. Therefore, Azerbaijan is a reliable supplier for Europe’, Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Erkan Ozoral said at the symposium on regional energy security held at ADA University, Report informs.
According to him, cyber and energy security has come into prominence, while military security was the focus of attention during ‘Cold War’: ‘We attach importance to high level of energy security, reforms and diversification in this field. In terms of this, pipelines in Turkey can be considered as a visual indicator’.
The Ambassador underlined Azerbaijan’s role in energy, which is the main part of relations between Turkey and the EU.
‘We have been a part of Europe for centuries. It’s impossible to imagine Europe without Turkey. We have a great role in Europe’s policy and security’, the Ambassador said.
Touching upon Turkish Stream 2 project, Ozoral noted that European countries themselves will decide whether they join this project or not.
