Slovenia is looking forward to strengthening energy cooperation with Azerbaijan, Tina Sersen, the Deputy Minister of Environment, Climate and Energy of the Republic of Slovenia, said during the plenary discussions themed "International cooperation on energy security and sustainability" on the first day of the Baku Energy Forum held today, Report informs.
"Azerbaijan is an important partner not only for the EU but also for Slovenia. Slovenia accounts for 1% of the natural gas consumed in the EU. We depend on Russian gas, but in the new reality, our goal is to find new partners and diversify gas supply sources," she stressed.
The deputy minister expressed confidence that successful cooperation with Azerbaijan will strengthen Slovenia's energy security.
