Terminal for gas supplies to Europe to start operations in Türkiye within a year

The terminal for the transit of natural gas to European countries through Türkiye will start operations maximum during the year, country's Minister of Energy Fatih Donmez said, Report informs via Haber Global.

"The gas trading center will start operations maximum within a year. Thanks to its functioning, it will be possible to sell more gas to European countries and diversify energy sources in relation to Türkiye," Donmez said.

According to him, the project is especially important for the countries of Southern Europe, which do not ask if there will be a hub or not, but wonder when it starts working.

The minister also said that Türkiye will be able to supply Europe with about 40 billion cubic meters of gas, which is a surplus when receiving about 100 billion cubic meters from abroad. Ankara is negotiating with 15 countries, including Azerbaijan, Iran and the Persian Gulf states.
