Tariff Council makes decision on natural gas prices

Tariff (Price) Council held a meeting today, Report informs.

The meeting considered the appeal of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) appeal and made a relevant decision.

By the unanimous decision of the council members, the tariff for up to 1200 m3 (including 1200 m3) of the annual consumption of natural gas for consumers covering about 51% (5 million people) of the population subscribers has not been changed and preserved at the current level (10 copecks per 1 cubic meter).

20 copecks are set per 1 cubic meter for the part of consumed gas with 1200-2500 m3 (including 2500 m3), while 25 copecks for the part with more than 2500 m3.

The tariff for natural gas supplied to industry and agriculture remained unchanged at the current level of 20 kopecks.

The tariff for natural gas supplied to power plants has been increased from 12 copecks to 13 copecks.

The tariff for natural gas supplied to gas filling stations has been reduced from 20 to 13 copecks.

As profitable activities are less dependent on natural gas tariffs in other areas (trade, services, etc.), the tariff has been increased by 5 kopecks.

The decision will take effect tomorrow.
