In the second quarter of 2025, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) carried out 18,000 meters of drilling operations, Report informs, citing the company.
Overall, 1.8 million tons of oil and 2 billion cubic meters of gas were produced from the fields operated by the company independently or as a major shareholder in the second quarter.
During this period, the SOCAR's natural gas production increased by 8.5% compared to the corresponding period of 2024.
At the same time, Azerbaijan's gas production rose by approximately 1.4% year-on-year, amounting to 12.7 billion cubic meters. In total, 6.8 million tons of crude oil were produced in Azerbaijan in the second quarter of the current year.
Moreover, the volume of oil exported by SOCAR to foreign markets grew slightly compared to the same period last year, amounting to approximately 4.2 million tons. This includes the volumes of oil extracted by the company with its own capabilities, as well as the profit shares of oil produced by international consortiums operating in our country belonging to the state of Azerbaijan and SOCAR.
Meanwhile, Azerbaijan's natural gas exports amounted to 6.2 billion cubic meters, while consumption was 2.4 billion cubic meters. There was a 6% increase in natural gas consumption.
In the second quarter of 2025, SOCAR processed more than 1.5 million tons of oil and more than 766 million cubic meters of gas. Nearly 570,000 tons of oil, petrochemical and gas-chemical products produced at SOCAR's enterprises in Azerbaijan were exported to foreign markets.
