SOCAR's employee goes missing in Caspian Sea

An employee of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), electrician in Neft Dashlari (Oil Rocks) Namazov Mursal went missing.

Ibrahim Ahmadov, deputy head of SOCAR's Public Relations and Events Department, told Report that Namazov, born in 1972, was last seen at work on December 1 at around 5.45 am.

"No one saw him again. A search was conducted along the perimeter of the site, as well as in the dormitory where he lived. Thus, ships and divers were immediately called to the area to continue the search. Helicopters flying over the sea have also been instructed to constantly monitor the sea surface. Although the search was stopped yesterday due to bad weather and strong winds at sea, efforts are being made to continue the search at sea.

"Mursal Namazov is married and has two sons. Our colleagues stand by his family, trying to bolster them up. I wish hope and patience from God to the family of our missing colleague," Ahmadov said.
