President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), Rovshan Najaf, participated in the 9th OPEC International Seminar held in Vienna, Austria, Report informs, citing SOCAR.
Within the framework of the seminar, an important platform for discussions on the global energy agenda, bringing together the world's leading energy companies, the SOCAR president participated in a number of events and held bilateral meetings.
Speaking at a high-level roundtable on "Policies and Regulations: A Just And Realistic Energy Future," Rovshan Najaf emphasized the importance of implementing energy transition in accordance with each country's national circumstances and economic potential. In this regard, he provided information about Azerbaijan's energy strategy in the modern era, as well as SOCAR's activities towards energy security and sustainable development.
During the event, Najaf held bilateral meetings with Patrick Pouyanne, Chief Executive Officer of TotalEnergies, Jeff Miller, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Halliburton, Majid Jafar, Chief Executive Officer of Crescent Petroleum, and Ahmed Al Azkawi, Chief Executive Officer of OQEP. The meetings reviewed cooperation opportunities in various areas of the energy sector and exchanged views on jointly implemented projects.
