SOCAR may purchase filling stations in Slovenia

Austrian energy company OMV has put up its filling stations for sale in Slovenia.

Report informs citing Slovenian media that OMV Slovenia wants to sell 92.25% of its shares in 120 filling stations.

Polish PNK Orlean, Hungarian MOL, Russia's Lukoil, and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) have already announced their intention to purchase the filling stations.

SOCAR owns 82 filling stations in Austria since 2019.

In 2010, Lukoil started acquiring filling stations in Croatia.

OMV is the second-largest player in the Slovenian oil products market, where it has a 20% share.

Ten days ago, OMV decided to sell its 92.25% stake in OMV Slovenia as part of its investment sales program. OMV has filling stations in Slovenia under the OMV, Eurotruck, Avanti, and Diskont brands. The company also operates in this market under the OMV Marine brand. However, the company has no intention to sell it.
