SOCAR joins restoration of Irpin

SOCAR Energy Ukraine, a subsidiary of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan in Ukraine, has taken part in the restoration of the Irpin School No. 12 named after Zarifa Aliyeva, the company said in a statement.

According to Report, in line with the information, a number of works will be carried out to improve the Friendship Park named after Zarifa Aliyeva.

"SOCAR offers a helping hand to the city of Irpin. We will finance the renovation of school No. 12 and the water supply to the park named after Zarifa Aliyeva," said Igor Orlov, director of the SOCAR filling station network.

According to the mayor of the city of Irpin, Alexander Markushin, many houses, schools, and kindergartens need reconstruction: "This requires huge resources and help."

"Irpin calls on all enterprises in various business areas to join the restoration of our city. We suggest that the name of your enterprises be minted in the history of our Irpin for the rest of their lives," said Volodymyr Karplyuk, head of the Investment Council of Irpin.

SOCAR opened its subsidiary in Ukraine in 2008. In 2009, the company acquired about 20 gas stations of the Tala-Neft network in the Odesa and Mykolaiv regions, as well as a large Rassvet oil depot in the Odesa region. And in 2010-2011, it took control of the filling networks ONIO (four filling stations in Kyiv and the region) and GFC (Lviv region).

In August 2012, SOCAR received permission from the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine to purchase 26 filling stations and one oil depot of the Kalina group. The network operates 57 filling stations in Ukraine, including two oil tankers, Baku-1 in Kyiv and Ganja in Odesa. Since late 2016, the company has been trading natural gas in Ukraine.
