Russian gas transit to Europe via Ukraine may drop 18%

The transit of Russian gas via the gas transportation system of Ukraine may drop by 18%, to 56 million cubic meters from previous 68.4 million, Report informs, citing Ukraine's operator of the gas transportation network.

Applications for pumping gas through the Sudzha and Sokhranovka stations from Russia are formed on the basis of demand in Europe. So, as of April 26, they are 56 million cubic meters. This is almost half the capacity of Ukraine's GTS, which Gazprom is booking this year under the transit contract - about 109.6 million cubic meters per day (40 billion cubic meters per year).

Underground gas storages (UGS) in Europe are now being replenished with "blue fuel" reserves. As of the morning of April 25, the occupancy of European UGS facilities is 31.6%.
