Russian gas transit through Ukraine grows to 100M cbm per day

The application for the transit of Russian gas through the territory of Ukraine on February 25 increased by 19% compared to the previous day, to 100 million cubic meters per day, Report informs referring to the Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine.

This volume is close to deliveries under long-term reservations for gas transit through Ukraine - approximately 109.5 million cubic meters per day.

At the same time, the first nomination for the supply of Russian gas through the GTS of Ukraine for February 25, which appeared on February 24 evening, amounted to 107.7 million cubic meters.

Applications for gas supplies via Nord Stream on February 25 remain at the level of about 170 million cubic meters per day.

Direct pumping of Gazprom’s gas to Germany via the Yamal-Europe pipeline is still stopped. The Russian holding stopped direct pumping gas to Europe via Yamal-Europe on December 21, 2021 due to the lack of applications from European consumers.

Also, in recent days, Europe has slightly increased the withdrawal of gas from storage facilities against the backdrop of rising spot prices due to the aggravation of the situation in Ukraine.
