Romanian chemical manufacturer Chimcomplex Borzesti has proposed the implementation of five projects to the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), the head of Chimcomplex Borzesti, Stefan Vuza, wrote on his LinkedIn page, Report informs.
Vuza noted that he was on a visit to Baku as part of the Romanian government delegation that participated in the meeting of the Azerbaijani-Romanian intergovernmental commission.
“From March 31 to April 2, the 8th meeting of the Joint Commission between the governments of Romania and Azerbaijan was held in Baku. Moreover, Chimcomplex was the only private company from Romania to take part in this meeting. Our goal was to meet with the president of SOCAR, the largest state-owned company in Azerbaijan, which is also the owner of the giant Petkim, with which we have close business relations,” Vuza wrote.
He noted that Chimcomplex “insisted on its participation in the meeting of government delegations because it foresaw opportunities and directions for business development between the two countries.”
Vuza added that during the meeting he proposed five projects for implementation to the Azerbaijani side, but did not specify what they were.
“I proposed five strong projects. If at least one of them is completed, we will already have a significant increase in trade turnover with Azerbaijan. However, we have a chance to implement three out of five projects, since Chimcomplex knows how to insist. I am an optimist and predict that, if we are lucky, we will implement all five projects,” he wrote.
