Putin: Attacks on Nord Stream masterminded by those who want to break Russia's ties with Europe

Individual participants in the energy market are engaged in subversive activities and destruction of the competitors' infrastructure. Explosions at the Nord Streams are an act of international terrorism, the beneficiaries of which were the United States, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the Russian Energy Week forum.

"This is the most dangerous precedent, competitors are thereby forcing Europeans to buy energy resources at inflated prices," the president said. According to him, behind the terrorist attacks on gas pipelines are those "who have already resorted to such sabotage and were caught by the hand."

"All the facts of sabotage at Russian energy facilities have been proven, they were masterminded by those who want to break Europe's ties with the Russian Federation and beneficiaries," Putin said. He added that after the explosions, the United States will be able to supply Europe with resources at high prices.

The president noted that it is possible to repair the Nord Stream lines, but this makes sense only in the case of further operation and safety.
