Poland ensures gas supplies for winter

Poland has provided gas supplies for the next winter period, spokesperson for the government of the republic, Piotr Muller, said on the air of the Polsat TV channel, Report informs referring to RIA Novosti.

“I can assure you that we are safe in terms of gas supplies when it comes to the winter season,” Muller said.

Earlier, the former chairman of the board of the Polish oil and gas concern PGNIG, Piotr Wozniak, said that due to the suspension of gas supplies from Russia, Poland may not have time to create gas reserves for next winter.

According to Muller, after the words of Wozniak, he spoke with the Minister of Climate and the Environment, Anna Moskwa.

Earlier it was reported that Poland decided to terminate the contract with Gazprom ahead of schedule, under which it received up to 10 million cubic meters of Russian gas per year. Poland intends to replace this volume, in particular, with liquefied gas supplied from the United States and the countries of the Arab region, as well as gas from the Norwegian shelf through the Baltic Pipe gas pipeline, the start of operation of which is expected before the end of this year.
