Peskov: West's decision on oil price cap will be responded soon

The text of Russian President Vladimir Putin's decree regarding the response to the West's decision to introduce oil price cap is being finalized and will be made public shortly, Russian President's Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, according to Report.

"The last moments are being agreed upon. We expect this to happen soon," Peskov said.

It should be noted that the price cap on Russian oil at $60 per barrel, which extended to seaborne transportation of crude, came into force in the EU, G20 and Australia on December 5.

Peskov also said that Moscow will begin to formulate a response to the ninth package of sanctions after its official publication.

On December 7, the European Commission proposed restrictions against Russia affecting the energy sector, a ban on investment in the mining industry and the supply of drones, and an expansion of export restrictions. In addition, Europe intends to impose sanctions against almost 200 individuals and organizations. The restrictions are planned to be published on the evening of Friday, December 16.
