Parviz Shahbazov: Masdar is reliable and important partner for Azerbaijan

The Masdar company of the United Arab Emirates is an important and reliable partner for Azerbaijan, Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said during his meeting with Suhail Mohamed Al Mazroui, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of this country, as part of his participation in the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, Report informs, citing the Ministry of Energy.

Shahbazov expressed his gratitude for the invitation to the prestigious discussion platform on modern challenges related to sustainable development.

It was noted that the participation of the President of Azerbaijan in the event, as well as the meeting of the heads of state, is a manifestation of high-level relations between the countries. It was emphasized that energy occupies an important place in the cooperation relations that add strategic importance to the ties between Azerbaijan and the UAE.

"Currently, the main priority of Azerbaijan is to produce electricity and hydrogen from rich renewable energy sources, integrate them into the country's energy system, transport them to more European markets, and construct the necessary infrastructure. Masdar is our important and reliable partner in implementing this multifaceted activity," Shahbazov said.

As reported, consultations on the implementation of the cooperation document signed between Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania, and Hungary on the development and transmission of green energy and projects and measures that will make Azerbaijan the source of the green energy corridor are being held.

The Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the UAE talked about the trend of installing renewable energy in the world, the necessary factors for developing this field, and his country's goals for green energy.

Emphasizing the importance of international cooperation in green energy, Suhail Mohamed Al Mazroui said that they attach great importance to energy cooperation with Azerbaijan in the context of brotherhood and expressed his country's support for the realization of joint mega projects.

During the conversation, the minsters also exchanged views on the latest situation in the international energy markets.
