Parviz Shahbazov: "Azerbaijan's electricity production increased by 4% this year"

The electricity production in Azerbaijan made up 7,194,200,000 kWh in January-March 2022, up 3.9% from the previous year, Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov wrote on Twitter, Report informs.

According to the operative data for the first quarter of 2022, the total electricity production in Azerbaijan amounted to 2,307.2 million kWh in March, which is 57.1 million kWh or 2.4% less than the same period last year.

Compared to the first 3 months of last year, thermal power plants (TPP) increased the electricity production increased by 245.7 million kWh to 6,849.7 million kWh in the reporting period, hydropower plants by 17.2 million kWh in (HPP) to 253.3 million kWh, while other sources (wind and solar power plants, UNICEF) - by 6.3 million kWh to 91.2 million kWh. The production in the wind power plants made up 23.3 million kWh, in the solar power plants – 12.5 million kWh, and at the Solid Waste Incineration Plant - 55.4 million kWh.

Electricity generation by Azerenergy OJSC during the first quarter was 6,532.7 million kWh (6,293.1 million kWh at thermal power plants, 239.6 million kWh at hydropower plants), by Nakhchivan AR State Energy Service - 81.56 million kWh (58.2 million kWh at thermal power plants, 11.7 million kWh at hydropower plants, 11.6 million kWh at solar power plants), 14.1 million kWh at wind power plants of Azerishig OJSC and 565.84 million kWh at independent power plants.
