Pakistani minister: COP29 to open up new opportunities for cooperation with Baku

The renewable energy sector presents a promising avenue for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, as stated by Pakistan's Federal Minister for Commerce, Jawad Paul, on the sidelines of the Azerbaijan-Pakistan Business Forum in Baku.

According to Report, minister Paul emphasized the strong collaboration between Baku and Islamabad across various domains, particularly highlighting the potential in energy and infrastructure. He noted, "With an abundance of sunny days and high solar irradiation, Pakistan possesses significant potential for renewable energy projects. Pakistan experiences around 300 sunny days annually. All we need to generate and harness this energy is investment."

Looking ahead to the upcoming global climate conference, COP29, set to take place in Baku this November, the minister expressed Pakistan's determination to accelerate its transition towards green energy.

COP29 is expected to open up new opportunities for the two nations to enhance their cooperation in the realm of sustainable energy, he said.
