Novak: New sanctions against Iran won’t cause oil shortage in world market

Baku. 12 November. REPORT.AZ/ "New US sanctions against Iran will not cause oil shortage in the world market despite the fact that 8 countries have the right to buy Iranian oil amid these sanctions," Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said in an interview to Russia 24 TV channel, Report informs citing TASS.

"Earlier we said that in case of sanctions against Iran, there will be supply shortage in the market and we asked which countries will meet these shortages. Now such a situation is not expected at least for the next month. All these are taken into account in the possible outlooks," he said.

Novak reminded that several ways were discussed ahead of new sanctions against Iran: "There were uncertainties related to Iran. Different ways from the hardest sanctions to the softest ones have been offered. Quite an average way was adopted and 8 countries have the right to buy Iranian oil within 180 days. We think that this has indeed changed the situation in the market."
