Iranian geologists have discovered new oil deposits in the southwest of the country, said Mehdi Fakoor, director of exploration of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), Report informs referring to IRNA.
“New oil deposits have been discovered in the southwest of the country,” he said.
He noted that the deposits were discovered by Iranian oilmen thanks to the development of a new method of exploring hydrocarbon deposits - aeromagnetic exploration.
Fakoor earlier said that scientists designed the first aircraft for aeromagnetic reconnaissance in Iran, which managed to make its first flight on December 6 and collect the first data, according to which new oil deposits were discovered.
