The Southern Gas Corridor further strengthened the position of Azerbaijan as an important energy supplier to Europe and the partnership between the participating countries, Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov said during a meeting with Italian Minister of Enterprises and "Made in Italy" Adolfo Urso.
Report informs, citing the Ministry of Economy, that Jabbarov said Azerbaijan plays a vital role in ensuring Europe's energy security.
The Minister of Economy emphasized that Azerbaijan attaches importance to the development of relations with Italy, that the partnership between the two countries is strengthening, and that the visits of the heads of state and meetings are of special importance in expanding relations.
Economic and trade cooperation with Italy, one of Azerbaijan's main trade partners, is developing. Italian companies operate successfully in Azerbaijan.
At the meeting, information was provided about the favorable business environment of Azerbaijan, and Italian companies were invited for active partnership.
Urso noted the expansion of cooperation in the field of the non-oil economy, expressed the interest of Italian companies in participating in the projects implemented in the liberated territories, and shared his views on the development of relations.
The parties discussed the current situation and prospects of Azerbaijan-Italy economic relations, possible models of cooperation in the fields of industry, pharmaceuticals, construction, railways, education, and food.
