Mikayil Jabbarov: ‘Bulgaria is interested in the project of supplying green energy from Azerbaijan to Europe’

The volume of gas to be exported from Azerbaijan to Bulgaria this year is expected to make over 55% of the country's annual consumption, the Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan, Mikayil Jabbarov, said at the Azerbaijan-Bulgaria business forum held in Baku today, Report informs.

"We are seeking to encourage our enterprises to work more closely. The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) started to be officially represented in Bulgaria last year. Azerbaijan continues to export energy products, mainly natural gas, to Bulgaria. At the same time, Bulgaria is interested in the project of supplying ‘green energy’ produced in Azerbaijan to the European Union through Georgia," Jabbarov noted.

The minister added that cooperation with Bulgaria is not limited only to the energy sector.
