Masdar: Azerbaijan - key partner in energy transition

Azerbaijan is a key partner for Masdar (UAE) in its energy transition, Murad Sadigov, head of Masdar's Azerbaijan office, said at the conference "Advancing Inclusion: Barriers and Opportunities for Women's Participation in Azerbaijan's Transition to Green Energy" in Baku, Report informs.

According to him, Masdar's renewable energy project portfolio comprises over 65 GW, but the goal is to reach 100 GW by 2030.

"Beyond scale, our mission is clear: to support countries not only in building infrastructure but also in creating sustainable, inclusive economies and environments. Azerbaijan is a key partner on this path. We are proud to have developed the Garadagh Solar Power Plant, the country's first industrial-scale solar power project with foreign investment, providing clean energy to approximately 110,000 homes," Sadigov emphasized.

However, as the company's representative noted, the success of this transition will be determined by more than just megawatts.

"It will be determined by people, the ability to cultivate a new generation of qualified specialists, and the confidence that this transformation is inclusive," he added.
