Mario Draghi calls on Algeria to increase gas supplies to Italy

In recent months, Algeria has become the leading supplier of gas to Italy, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi said during his Algeria visit, noting that the country expects a further increase in gas supplies from Algeria in the coming years.

According to Draghi, "A few days ago, the Algerian company Sonatrach announced that it was going to send 4 billion cubic meters of gas to Italy under the agreement signed with ENI in April."

"This is faster than expected and gives grounds to expect even more significant deliveries in the coming years," the prime minister said.
