Kazakh PM, head of Lukoil mull development of oil fields

The issue of implementing joint projects on exploration and development of oil fields, modernization of drilling rigs, as well as logistics and taxation were discussed during a meeting between Kazakh Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov and Russian businessman Vagit Alekperov, Report informs referring to Sputnik-Kazakhstan.

The head of the Cabinet stressed that the government of Kazakhstan is ready to continue joint work and identify new possible areas of cooperation.

In turn, Alekperov noted that Lukoil is interested in further expanding investments in Kazakhstan and developing new projects.

Lukoil is involved in a number of projects for oil and gas production, production of lubricants in Kazakhstan, as well as in the Caspian Pipeline Consortium. Over the years, the company has invested more than $10 billion in the economy of Kazakhstan.
