Iran ready to expand transit of Turkmen gas to neighboring countries

Tehran is ready to expand the transit of gas from Turkmenistan to neighboring countries, given the successful experience of swap supplies of Turkmen gas to Azerbaijan through Iran, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy Mehdi Safari said during a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Shahym Abdrakhmanov, who is in charge of the fuel and energy complex in the Turkmen government, Report informs.

The meeting participants also discussed the issue of providing Turkmenistan with access through Iran to the southern ports of this country, such as Bandar Abbas and Chabahar, to realize the transit potential of both countries.
