Georgia suggests using potential of South Caucasus to develop renewable energy sources

It is necessary to use the potential of all countries of the South Caucasus region for the development of renewable energy sources, Georgian Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili said during the panel discussion on ‘Middle Corridor: Rebuilding the ties between Europe and Asia’ within the framework of the 57th annual meeting of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Report's correspondent seconded to Tbilisi informs.

The minister also emphasized that Georgia will involve the private sector in the implementation of the Azerbaijan-European Union ‘green corridor’ project.

Khutsishvili also raised the issue of preparing the project of laying a cable line through the bottom of the Black Sea signed between the governments of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania, and Hungary.

He expressed hope that the results of the feasibility study can be obtained in the next few months: "Within this project, we are cooperating with partner countries in the region. In addition, we are working on attracting financial resources through the private sector."
