Gasoline production in Azerbaijan up by 19%

Azerbaijan produced petroleum products worth 3,347.6 million manats ($1.97 billion) in January-September 2023, 11.5% more than a year ago, Report informs, referring to the State Statistical Committee.

During the reporting period, 1,079,900 tons (+19.1%) of gasoline, 1,734,200 tons of diesel fuel (+20%), 44,000 tons of lubricating oil (+57.7%), 197,900 tons of petroleum bitumen (-29.7%) were produced.

In the reporting period, the country also produced 179,000 tons (+4.6%) of liquid gas, 440,100 tons of kerosene (+7.5%), 5,200 tons of fuel oil (-92.4%), and 176,000 tons of petroleum coke (+27.4%).

As the only oil refinery in the region, the Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery of SOCAR provides Azerbaijan with fuels such as RON-92, diesel, and jet fuel, but also supplies SOCAR's petrochemical plants in Azerbaijan with raw materials. Some of the plant's products are exported. Modernization and reconstruction work aimed at increasing the production capacity of the refinery, providing the country with high-quality fuel in accordance with Euro-5 standards, stable supply of Azerikimya PU, and increasing the export potential of oil products are important for Azerbaijan's industry.
