Experts from Azerbaijan and Pakistan to hold discussions in green energy

Javid Abdullayev, director of the State Agency on Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources (SAARES), met with Rihan Akhtar, CEO of the Central Power Purchasing Agency of Pakistan, as part of his visit to Pakistan, Report informs.

According to the meeting, Azerbaijan and Pakistan will hold discussions at the level of experts in the field of renewable energy.

Abdullayev informed his interlocutor about the reforms carried out in the field of energy in Azerbaijan, cooperation with international energy companies on green energy projects, including the implementation of the "Agreement on a strategic partnership in the field of green energy development and transmission between the Governments of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania and Hungary". The main provisions of the Law "On Electric Power" adopted in May of this year, the work done in connection with the transition to the liberal market model were brought to attention.

Rihan Akhtar said that Pakistan is at the stage of transition to the liberal market model. He provided extensive information about the functioning mechanisms of the single buyer model and the existing information systems.
