The European Union pumped almost 90 billion cubic meters of gas into underground gas storage facilities (UGS) as part of preparations for winter, Report informs, citing the Association of Gas Infrastructure Operators of Europe (Gas Infrastructure Europe, GIE).
UGS filling rates were 0.35-0.39 percentage points (p.p.) on September 1-3, and rose to 0.41 percentage points on September 4. The overall filling level of European storage facilities is 81.92%, they contain 88.6 billion cubic meters of gas. If the injection rate remains at the same level and no severe cold sets in, European companies will fill gas storage facilities by 90% by the end of September.
Meanwhile, wind generation in Europe has grown with the advent of autumn, according to data from the WindEurope Association. As early as September 1, it was at the level of 9.2%, and on September 2-5 it increased to 13-15% of the total electricity generation in Europe.
