The European Parliament calls for new EU sanctions on Russia and restriction of oil and gas imports from this country, according to the draft resolution 'on Russia's aggression against Ukraine' to be put on the vote at an extraordinary session today.
The document says the sanctions must promote the strategic weakening of the Russian economy and industrial base. It restricts the import of primary export goods from Russia, including oil and gas, prohibits new EU investments in Russia and new Russian investments in the EU.
