The European Commission has proposed a strategy to make the EU the world leader in microchip production, called the EU Chips Act, with an investment of 43 billion euros, said Head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, Report informs referring to TASS.
The EU Chips Act is a plan to turn Europe into a leader in the microchip market. By 2030, 20% of microchips should be produced in Europe, she said.
The European Commission intends to attract 43 billion euros of investment for this purpose.
