Europe gas prices show sharply accelerated growth rates

Gas prices in Europe have sharply accelerated growth, approaching the mark of $1,800 per thousand cubic meters, Report informs with reference to the London Stock Exchange ICE.

Futures contracts for the supply of gas in August opened the trading session on Monday at $1,680 per thousand cubic meters (-0.5% against Friday's settlement price of $1,686) and during the first hours of trading showed moderate growth by an average of 3%-4% . Then they declined to about $1,780 (+5.4%).

The estimated gas price on the European stock exchange in July averaged almost $1,735 per thousand cubic meters, several times higher than the same period last year.
