EU to continue supporting Azerbaijan's energy efficiency, green policy efforts

The European Union (EU) plans to continue supporting Azerbaijan's efforts in energy efficiency and the development of green policies in the future, EU Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Peter Michalko, said at the B2B Forum themed "Green Technology and Sustainable Development" held in Baku, Report informs.

"Through various bilateral projects, the EU has supported and plans to continue supporting the Azerbaijani government's efforts in developing framework programs for energy efficiency, green policy formulation, sustainable water management, and other crucial areas for a sustainable future," Michalko noted.

The diplomat also highlighted that the EU has embarked on a new partnership with Azerbaijan in the lead-up to the COP29, which will be held in Baku this November.

"We recently launched a public campaign to raise awareness about the conservation of natural resources until COP29. The campaign is titled 'For Our Planet - Safe Water, Clean Air, Clean Soil, and Green Energy.' As part of this campaign, we will carry out various activities, including seminars, presentations, social media events, and photo competitions," he added.
