EU limit on price of Russian oil does not apply to Bulgaria

Bulgaria, using a temporary exemption set for it, buys Russian oil at a higher price than the limit set by the European Union (EU), European Commission Spokesperson Daniel Sheridan Ferrie said, Report informs, citing Interfax.

"Bulgaria has a temporary exemption from the general ban imposed by the European Union on the import of Russian oil. This exception is limited in time. His term will end on December 31, 2024," he added.

According to him, this exemption was given to ensure supply security.

Ferry reminded that Bulgaria can unilaterally decide not to use this exemption.
