So far, 9.4 billion cubic meters of Azerbaijani natural gas have been transported via the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP), Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Donmez said, Report informs, referring to Anadolu Agency.
He said that the third floating storage regasification unit (FSRU) for liquefied natural gas will be commissioned this year.
The minister noted that the market of natural gas futures, which will be opened within the Energy Exchange Istanbul (EXIST) this year, will significantly contribute to trading activities.
Natural gas extracted from the Azerbaijani Shah Deniz field is transported to Turkey. Natural gas volumes are supplied to the Turkish market via the South Caucasus pipeline (Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum) and TANAP.
The first gas supplies through the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline entered the Turkish market in 2007. Commercial gas supplies to Turkey via TANAP started on June 30, 2018.
