The Egyptian Electricity Transmission (EETC) and Norway’s Scatec have signed a memorandum of understanding on a project to export renewable energy from Egypt to Europe via Italy, reads a statement of the Egyptian government office, Report informs referring to foreign media.
“Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly attended the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding between the EETC and the Norwegian company Scatec to start studying a power grid project between Egypt and Europe to export renewable energy from Egypt to Europe through Italy,” the report said.
Egyptian Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mohamed Shaker noted that the signing of a memorandum of understanding between EETC and Scatec took place as part of the strengthening of cooperation between Egypt and the European Union, in particular in the energy sector.
