Donmez: Turkiye aims to explore, develop all fields in country

Ankara is focused on exploration and further development of all deposits in the country, including in offshore areas, Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Donmez said, Report informs referring to the Anadolu Agency.

Donmez drew attention to the situation in the Eastern Mediterranean, where the country's most modern drilling vessel, the Abdulhamit Han, has recently embarked on a mission.

"In the Mediterranean Sea, we have 45-60 days in reserve. During this time, we will complete drilling. If reserves are found, we will inform the public," the minister said.

Donmez also spoke about the work carried out as part of the development of the new Sakarya field in the Turkish sector of the Black Sea.

"In March 2023, the first gas from the Black Sea field will go onshore," he said.

He noted that an entire "energy base" is being created in the Turkish sector of the Black Sea at a depth of 2,200 meters.

"120 km of pipes have already been laid along the seabed. 50 km are left," Donmez added.
