Fatih Donmez: Neighboring European countries turn to Turkiye for gas purchases

The first steps to create a hub in Turkiye to ensure the supply of Russian gas to Europe may be taken in early 2023, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkiye Fatih Donmez told the TRT TV channel.

Report informs that, according to him, Turkiye has already received the first requests for the supply of such fuel.

"Many neighboring European countries are turning to us for gas purchases. I hope that from the beginning of next year we will take the first steps towards creating a gas center," the minister said.

On October 12, Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed the creation of a gas hub in Turkiye to redirect the volume lost during transit through Nord Stream.
