Seventy percent of greenhouse gas emissions released into the environment in Azerbaijan come from the energy sector, Deputy Minister of Energy and Chief Executive Officer of COP29 Elnur Soltanov said at the Baku Climate Action Week, Report informs.
"Azerbaijan is implementing effective measures in the energy sector. We are dismantling all the infrastructure left from the former USSR and replacing it with modern plants and stations. We are now building power stations that operate not only on gas but also on renewable energy," Soltanov said.
