The Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) will begin shipping oil from a terminal in the Black Sea on February 22, Minister of Energy Bolat Akchulakov said, Report informs referring to Kazakh media.
“You yourself saw what happens with storms in the Black Sea. Objectively, there are problems with the weather. You saw what happened to the dry cargo ship yesterday. It is clear that in this situation it is impossible to ship, it is dangerous,” he explained, reminding about the dry cargo ship that sank February 21 in the waters of Novorossiysk in a severe storm.
He noted that on February 23, according to the forecast, normal weather should be established, which will allow tankers to enter the water area and start loading.
“While we are working on the tank farm, production has not been stopped. Shipment has been suspended due to weather conditions,” he concluded.
CPC stopped oil shipment from the terminal in the Black Sea due to unfavorable weather on February 19.
