Chinese company explores implementation of wind energy project in Caspian Sea

A Chinese company is exploring the implementation of a 200 MW offshore wind energy project in Azerbaijan, Wang Bo, vice president of China CAMC Engineering Co., Ltd, told journalists, Report informs.

According to Wang Bo, the Chinese company is the largest investor and industrial contractor in the world in the field of electricity:

"So far, we have been working with the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan on investments in solar energy and offshore wind energy. We are also currently discussing with the Ministry of Energy and other energy agencies on improving the electricity grid in Azerbaijan to accommodate more renewable energy sources. So far, we are advancing a 160 MW solar project in Fuzuli and will also explore 200 MW of offshore wind energy."

He noted that the company has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Energy to provide the start of the electricity grid for the further development of renewable energy.
